- Summary: CARTO is a location intelligence platform. A Basemaps API key authenticates
tile, style, glyph, and sprite requests to
basemaps.cartocdn.comand removes the "API key required" watermark. Requests count against the owner's monthly tile quota, but the key does not grant access to CARTO accounts, data, or SQL APIs.
Revoke the secret
Sign in to the CARTO Basemaps dashboard with the email used to request the key. Delete the compromised key, then create a replacement.
