Portainer API Key

Description

General

  • Documentation: https://docs.portainer.io/api/access
  • Summary: Portainer is a container management platform for Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes and Podman environments, usually self-hosted. A Portainer API key authenticates calls to the Portainer API through the X-API-Key header, with the same permissions as the user who created it. Depending on that user's role, it can give control over every container, stack, volume and registry managed by the Portainer instance.

Revoke the secret

API keys can be removed from the Portainer UI, under My account > Access tokens. Removing a key revokes it immediately.
